Sean-Nós Singing w/ Caitríona Ní Cheannabháin

Caitríona Ní Cheannabháin

Caitríona, from Carna, County Galway, in the heart of Connemara, began singing in childhood and was just 12 years old when she recorded her first tape with her late dad, Michael. He’d been asked by the Connemara publishing house Cló-Iar Chonnacht to record an album and was happy to as long as Caitríona was involved. Later, as a sean-nós singer, Caitríona won the women’s competition at Oireachtas na Gaeilge three times. Caitríona’s most recent album, ‘Queen of Connemara – Songs from the Mist’, released in July 2019, includes favourite well known sean nós songs ‘An Spailpín Fánach’ & ‘Tá mo Chleamhnas Déanta’
