In recent years, thanks to the instigation of long time tutors at the summer school, Fiona Doherty & Michael Hurley, a new Workshop was introduced to cater for adults who would like to spend the week amongst likeminded people who love the music, play a variety of melody instruments and wish to gain confidence in playing in a group/session setting as well as building a repertoire of tunes.

This year we are delighted to have Michael Hurley facilitate the Mixed Melody Instruments Workshop for Adults. Michael himself is an experienced multi-instrumentalist, adept on a range of traditional instruments ranging from flute to fiddle and everything in between. He is steeped in the music of the whole South Sligo/East Mayo area and has a wealth of knowledge and expertise to share. Attendees come from all over and the range of instruments varies greatly each year with all melody instruments welcome. A great opportunity to gain confidence, expand repertoire, learn more about the music of the North Connacht region and enjoy it all in good company.
